I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight”

Wishing on your birthday candles and then blowing them all out in a single breath is traditional and funny and usually ends up being quite comical at parties.
But it doesn’t work.

I wish I had a better house. I wish I had a new(er) car.
I wish my job were better…I wish I could move to be closer to family… I wish I could travel. I wish I had more money. I wish, I wish, I wish….
Complete this sentence.
I wish I had/could _________________ but I don’t have _________________.
What did you wish? What is holding you back from that wish coming true?
I hope you know that wishes don’t come true unless you DO something to make them happen. Life isn’t a fairy tale.
What’s holding you back from getting that new home, new car, new job? Or moving closer to family, to a better city or a better job.
You know what it is? FEAR.
Don’t you dare wish something unless you are willing to do what it takes to make it come true. That only sets you up for failure. It’s too easy just to wish and then let fear take over. Fear will tell you that you can’t do it, that your not good enough, that you don’t deserve it. Fear is strong and powerful.
Fear gives you excuses. STOP making excuses.
You need a plan. You need prayer to your God or your god or your higher power, whatever you believe in. You need faith that is strong as a “mustard seed” (Read Matthew 17:20). You need courage and strength and a strong will. You will need some patience, too.
Because the fear will be stronger the closer you are to making your wish come true.
You need to plan, to pray, to have the courage to make decisions.
