I’ve missed three days of the writing challenge. But, this morning, I woke up with this blog post running through my head. I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving to share this information, but I felt a need to share it today –
I made a pretty big decision this week.
I know it was big because as soon as I decided I felt this feeling in my gut – I had a very real physical reaction to this decision and then, I had a sense of peace that this was the right one to make.
It came to me while I was driving, listening to a Billy Joel CD that I had in the car – my son and I are listening to the CD’s I kept from the great purge. I’ve listened to this song hundreds of times, but this time, for whatever reason, it was different. The lyrics led to my decision –
“This is the time to remember ’cause it will not last forever,
these are the days to hold on to cause we won’t although we’ll want to
this is the time, the time is gonna change…
My decision – it’s time to get serious about change.
Since becoming debt free so I could pursue my dream of meeting Elton John, I developed a passion for helping people do the same – change their lives financially and learn how to manage their time so they could pursue their dream, too.
I’ve inspired and motivated hundreds of people over the last six years with my coaching business.
But, that is not enough. Why?
Because a lot of those people are not taking the action necessary to achieve their goals.
They get scared.
They listen to the voice in their head or the voices of other people who tell them it’s a dumb, stupid, crazy dream.
They lose hope.
Something happens to throw them off track.
There seems to be no sense of urgency. People are not living their lives on purpose, with intention.
Over the last few months, I’ve felt a heightened sense of urgency to be more intentional with living a life on purpose, to make the changes necessary to fulfill my purpose – to motivate and inspire other people to live their lives with purpose and intention and stop letting time and money be an excuse.
It’s time to change that.
Our time is now.
As I was writing this post, I happened to glance over to my wall where I have this quote written on a sticky note:
“It’s my life, it’s now or never
I ain’t gonna live forever, I just want to live while I’m alive. ~Bon Jovi
At 5:30am every morning, Monday through Friday, I get a text message from YouPrint. It’s an encouragement or meditation that gives me pause each morning to get focused, to be intentional and live the day on purpose.
Today’s text ended with this:
“For the choices you make today will surely matter tomorrow”
What are the odds that I wake up with the feeling to share this blog post today rather than after the holiday AND that I get this message in a text?
My faith tells me that this is God at work. There is a reason that these two things are connected.
This is our time.
So what’s next? I’m restructuring my business model for 2019.
I started my business on January 1, 2012 so anytime I restructure, it usually happens on the 1st of every year. I want to work with people who are serious about changing their lives.
Which means, letting some things go and getting serious myself about pursuing other means of helping people. For me, it means that I hired a coach to help me move into this bigger purpose and help me navigate the changes.
You see, there is a sense of urgency. This is the time. Our time is now.
It’s time to let go of the fear, overcome the struggles and change our internal dialogue.
2019 is our year of change.
But the pre-work for it starts now.
Know that I’m making some changes in my personal life too but I’m not ready to share all that just yet – one day I will. I will not ask you to do something that I am not willing to do myself.
So, if you are like me and you feel this sense of urgency, you feel that you are ready to make a change and you are ready to take action – to do the work – it will take to make the change then I want to help you, I want to be your coach. But, only if you are serious.
This is going to take a serious commitment.
Inspiration + Motivation + Action = Change
